A WEDNESDAY IN MUMBAI "MERI JAAN"

They did it on a Friday! Repeated on Tuesday ! I'm just Replying on a Wednesday!

This face paced action flick may have brought to light the attacks on Amchi Mumbai...

But is this the right and only way to get back to these savage beasts who tear apart lives of innocent, rip apart homes. We start to wonder when this onsaulght will stop... Each passing day the wife/mother/sister is not sure whether her hubby/child/brother will come back home alive...

today we walk our roads with the sword of death looming over our heads, who knows who's number its next...

but what was portrayed in A Wednesday ... was it the only way to fight back, to attain justice...
the question is how long will Mumbai just keep mum on these salvaging attacks...

Mumbai Meri Jaan the slow flick was the one which highlighted something which has been the best ever answer to the question of how to fight back --the never dying n never ending spirit of MUMBAI...

be the riots, the Blasts, the 26th july floods after a couple of days of chaos everything is back to square one just as it was before...

MUMBAI ~~~ the people of mumbai the bade dilwale ~~~ have some how mastered to walk back out of such situations. Those who lost their near n dear ones, only they can understand the pain of such situations but still they muster the courage to get up and walk up front ...

I'd say the biggest slap in the FACE of the perpetrators is the people of Mumbai getting up and walking back as though everything was normal...

The unbreakable-never dying-never ending-Mumbaiya spirit is the best answer given!

YEH HAI MUMBAI MERI JAAN ... YEH HAI MUMBAI MERI JAAN...

ROCK ON !!! was it a DCH part 2???

never have i seen any movie in the theater more than once par ROCK ON was different...

Farhan: One helluva performance... Probably the second actor after Himesh Reshamiya who sang n acted his debut film ... but Farhan's performance as an actor n singer --- par excellance...

Arjun : His Journey from Moksha to ROCK ON has been inspiring... with so many flops in his bag n his stone faced expressions (expressionless in most of his performances) ROCK ON i would say was a resounding his best after Aankhein where he played one of the 3 blind puppets stringed by the Big B...

Luke : has strived hard to catch up with the performance of the rest of the crew and has managed to some extent...

Purab : Killer Drummer -- he was the life line of MAGIK ... his jokes , silly comments n spritley attitude add the jazz and the punch to the movie...

the ladies were in their own class... Prachi : embarking on her journey in Bolly wood with a cute n sweet performance...

Sahana Goswami : Blunt , ruthless, bold perfectly essayed the role of a Pawwali chick..

Koel Purie : charmin n dashing and gorgeous as always....

the star cast n story line pretty analogous to DCH

group of frnds -- getting entangled in a fight which leads to each of them walkin their way...

purab bein saif, arjun bein akshay , farhan --- aamir...

but wait...

Both these Movies though on similar lines... have definitely many different things to offer...

Rock On!!! was like a bench mark for the youth that its neva too late to chase your dreams...

you may be 35+ but still its your mind that holds you from doing things you always wanted...

Rightfully Answered by Koel Purie , "yeh peecha tab chodenge jab tum bhagna band kar doge..."

many a times we run away turn down/suppress our thought/ feelings/ desires and the reason log kya sochenge...

if you know you have the potential in you and you can do it Rise up n live your life to the fullest...

Iss Zindagi mein jo chaha woh na kiya toh kya kiya; har pal ko jeele agar to dil bhar diya...

Rock On!~!! keep Rockin ON!!!

Magik dat will neva die.........

recently went fr rock on...........
now wat to say abt this movie!!!! welllllll i would say itz toooooo gooooood!!!!
first half could hv been more fast but itz k since i njoyed it....farhan akhtar gt a gud debut as a singer ,n actor;luke kenny seemed to be a bit stiff wid his acting ,purab kohli was havng a gala time playing KD, but arjun rampa stealed the show yaar,i always liked his persona since his modeling days but he gt me floored in this movie(now i can say i m mad fr him n hrithik) specially during climax wen he comes on stage wid hair left open ,n flaunting attitude wid his guitar,i just went mannnnnnnnnnnn hez awesum!!!!! i luved his acting which had some loopholes but overall show was too good...
prachi had gt the same bahu roles but here shez shown sophisticated ,n she didnt get into melodrama yaar, she acted wid finesse but her character could hv been more strong, koel purie as always darn good ,shibani goswami was as blunt as required...........
i luved the plot which has music n camaraderie had as backbones n it touched various relations here n thre......it wasnt xactly a rock movie but m sure non rockers would now know sumthing abt rock culture nt thru move but as itz after effects(net, peers)
i specially luved the scene wen they reunite in the old rehearsal place , thnks to the fact that melodrama n tears n alll were ommitted......n also the scene wen debbie meets adi to ask him to let go joe......sincerely done film
goood music
n awesum performances..
rock on guys!!!!!

The whole thing is that ke bhai sabse bada RUPEEYA!!!

Of all things very much predominant in India or rather the Govt Offices is the Under the table transaction...

The higher the denomination of the green leaves(hari pattiyan...) the faster the normal procedure begins to move...

Last week it so happened that my team mate wanted to get his new born son's birth certificate from the Municipal corporation... After a couple of trips the office clerk asked him to drop in on the following Monday...

To make things easier for us Monday was a holiday (UK holidays are really weird... but sure they come at the right time)... So him n I decided to pay the clerk a visit on Monday to get the Birth Certificate.

As soon as we reached the office (seemed like its still the same British built building just re-painted over the years with the wiring work having re done... ) we marched straight into the Birth and Death Registration section.

There just at the entrance sat the Clerk ... surrounded by people mostly who had come in to register someone's death... i guess we were the only ones to get a birth registered...

Since my team mate couldn't converse in the native language I had to the talking... So after the normal greetings and the salutations (and calling the clerk the Saheb...) things didn't seem to move on at all... Some issue with the date or some problem seemed to have come up while finding the record sent by the hospital...

After all the normal cajoling and the attempts to generate the sympathy of the Clerk Saheb, my team mate who was now frustrated said to me, 'Boss lets get down to business, we haven't got all day to waste here".

After an agonizing wait of 20 minutes the Clerk Saheb walked out of his chamber (a desk and a chair) and was walking past the hall to the computer rooms, i walked straigth upto him and whispered in his ears, "Saheb kuch le de ke nahi ho sakta kya???"

These words were like asking a famished beggar if he wanted to have food... As soon as he resumed his work on his desk people gather round him were detoured and directed to different rooms and other officials to get their documents checked. This was just an attempt to clear the coast. No one being around we just walked straight to him, I had my hand in my jeans pocket and the Clerk Saheb's innocently greedy face gestured it was time to empty the pockets...

Some how I managed to hand him the green leaves my team mate had handed me (before we kicked off on the busniess tour...)

3 Hundred bucks in his pocket and bang in the next 2 minutes we were on the counter with a girl entring the data of the new born kid... and immediately after that we got the receipt for the payment of the birth certificate copies.

Amazing how the currency gets stagnant things moving.

Having got the payment receipt we walked back to the Clerk Saheb who immediately got off his throne and guided us to the printing department...

Call it bad luck or the IRONY of FATE... the printer was out of ink. I still wonder why do these govt office computer people say that the dot matrix printer is out of ink...

Well now these were troubling times for the Clerk Saheb, payment toh ho gaya ... par kaam nahi hua...

Clerk Saheb resumed his position on the throne... the incompetence reflected in his facial expressions...

Still overcoming the feeling of being Vanquished by FATE... He made a smart move...

He asked us to visit the New Regional Office at the part of town and meet some Female clerk there and give his reference and our work would be done...

Frustrated we drove back to the regional office's new head quarters and after an agonizing wait in the queue we were directed to an empty counter to get the print-outs...

lucky here the ink (here they had an ink-jet/laser one i guees) hadn't ran shot yet the girl (who seemed to be pretty much in her late teens) asked us to get the signature of some other official at the new Office.

When we reached the cabin of this so called important official for his Million Dollar Autograph we were motioned to wait... Lo ... he was in a meeting so the wait grew much longer...

finally after waiting for him (the last wait for the day... Thank the Lord...) the Mr Important was done with his meeting... I walked right across the room with the print-outs and asked him for hsi signatures...

So enraged were we , (my team mate n I that we would've slapped someone if we were asked to run around once more) when we saw the signature of Mr Important... It was just a scribble...
even I could've done it...'

Finally having done that and having returned the receipt to the teenaged girl in the new office we were on our way back home...

As we drove by the old building (where we had wasted 2 and a half hours earlier that morning) my team mate said...

"Dekha... Yeh Paisa Bolta hai!!!"... while I hummed the famous song picturized on the yester-year's Comedian Mehmood Ji,

"Na biwi naa bachcha, naa Baap bada Naa maiyaa!!!

The whole thing is that ek bhaiyaa...

Sabse bada rupiyyya!!!!"

Up Against Myself...

well it would nt be too difficult fr u to understand wat i mean to say..or may be it will.....again it depends on u n nt the world....
gone r the days wen u r adviced that the whole world is ur enemy , u need to hv courage n valour n guts to face the world..... u must be confident n caring to make a place fr urself in this big bad world....
gone r these days
u will agree too if u listen to me
if u just listen,...
the world is nt ur enemy ,
the world doesnt create problems fr u in ur way to success,
the world doesnt spoil ur fun,
the world doesnt hv time yaar to do so
itz u n only urself that does so,itz u , urself whom u hv to face, itz u ,urself who creates problems, itz u , urself that u hv to fight....
u r nt a being but a mutual understanding of various facets,xpressions, feelings,wierd na!!!
but sadly itz true
u dont hv to fight the world ,u hv to struggle against urself, threz no one better than u in this world other than u , the only person who thinks bad abt u in this world is again u,the only person u hv to handle in this world is again u...
itz difficult to face the world but the most difficult is to face urself, itz difficult to lie the world but the worst is to ie to ur self.....itz difficult to prove urself to the world but impoossible to prove to urself.....
then y do we waste our time behind the world wen we actually hv to stand against self,
y do we fool the world wen we actually just hv to make ourselves undertand?
y do we try n love the world wen we actually just hv to maintain balance within our facets?
y?
itz time u understand,u may u may nt,it depends on u n nt the world,
itz time to be
UP AGAINST MYSELF....

3 BIKES 6 GUYS AND PARADISE

SUNDAY, 13 JULY 2008:
The Contemplation-->
1400 hrs I.S.T.

Sometimes I wonder why am I afraid to venture out, to free myself from all that holds me.Finally instead of contemplating I just decided to have a look at the wilder side of things...Apparently my room-mates had planned to ride down to Mulshi(River in pune India, also has a dam-reservoir-lake and beautiful waterfalls) after lunch of which I was unaware! Just as we were to leave the house, Shubranshu walked in as usual all decked up in a bikers attire. "Tu aa raha hai kya???" he asked me as he lit his cigarette, just out of impulse I buzzed in "Kidhar???",
Somu lighthing his cigarette using Shubranshu's chirped in "Mulshi, Tu aa raha hai toh chal ek seat khaali hai".

I was in no mood for a long drive however the thought of just lying around in the flat wasn't overwhelming either... " Lets give it a try n check it out!!!" So I just nodded and off we were to TOP IN TOWN for lunch.
